Healthy habits for glowing skin

Hands down the benefits of healthy habits for skin are awesome. I’m on a healthy lifestyle journey right now because I need to lose a lot of weight. As I evolve my habits and lifestyle from the old me to the better me, I’ve noticed that my skin has changed. It’s brighter, plumper and glows more than when I was eating fast food and not working out.

If fact, when I fall off of the healthy wagon (because I’m not perfect), I notice that I break out a bit more and my skin is just a bit more dull and sallow.

Tip #1: Food prep is a must

I like to prepare large pots of chicken or ground turkey, rice or quinoa basically all of the things that take a long time to a lot of attention to cook. I am not a gourmet chef so, I prep foods that are easy and do not require a lot of steps. Once I make my large pots of food, I can easily prepare lunches and dinners throughout the week.

I’ve noticed that one of the reasons that I go to fast food is so that don’t have to cook for long periods of time. I would rather drive and grab food on the go then stop and make dinner. Since I have decided to eliminate fast food for the rest of the year, I need to get things in order on the home front.

Tip 2#: Write positive notes for yourself to remind you of your goal for the week. Keep your self going.

Post it notes or note cards are your friend. Put a physical reminder in your face so that you don’t forget your goal for the week. This week my goal is to go to bed at 9:45 pm so that I can wake up and get to my workouts at 5:45 am. In the scheme of things it’s not a huge change but to me its significant. I tend to stay up late, so early morning workouts do not really work because I’m super tired. I need to get to bed on time so that I can meet my goals for the week.

Tip #3: Use social media to stay inspired

This is one of those tips that one should just do anyway. Follow people that motivate and inspire you to get moving. Even if you don’t do their workouts or buy their stuff. Sometimes just seeing their story day in and out it’s a motivator to keep you moving.

Bonus Tip!! Get physical and hydrate

Do I even have to say it? Drink water and workout, lol. My plan: drink a gallon of water a day and workout at least 5 times a week.

For the workouts, I put them in my bullet journal. I feel like, once I’ve written things down, I’m committed to doing the workout. I also have habit trackers in my bullet journal. I honestly love to check that box at the end of the day.
